TRANSGENDER

Today where we talk about human equality , is there really equality between humans and human rights. You must be thinking I am taking about  Men and Women equality , no I am talking about the Third gender, bisexual, lesbian, gay(Transgender) in India they are well known as (Kenner’s).

Whenever we usually travel  by Public transport we come across such people & we treat them as such as they are from another planet , as they are some aliens. They are as us only just there gender is not justified ,we treat them as different people or we do not consider them as humans. Why so?

Why we say that they are so ill people ? They are also humans ,they also come from different walks of life , they are also someone’s dad ,mom son, brother, husband . They are our co workers , neighbors and many more.
Today everywhere heated argument is their about the Transgender specially on social media.
Meaning of Transgender

Transgender means ‘trans’ is an umbrella for the people whose identity or the sex is not determined in the society. Although there gander is defined in 21st century , but still they are existed from every culture of the society.
Such people out of fear feel homosexual as shameful thing.

Consequences faced by Transgender People

Transgender (Third gender) were facing and are still facing many consequences since ancient India. Caste discrimination as well as gender discrimination has a strong presence in our country specially in rural areas.

As transgender face rejection not only from the society but they also face rejection from families for same-sex marriage. Marrying a same sex  person is not a criminal offence under Indian Penal code.

Transgender people also face the problem of legal protection , they also face the consequences of harassment not only from the families but also from society.

Legal Role

There were many reports of harassment ,abuse , violence  against the Transgender.  Recently a bill was passed by parliament to propose the act and protect the dignity and self-esteem of the third gender in family as well as society.

The bill was introduced by Lok Sabha  on 19 July 2019 by Minister of Social Justice and Welfare with the help of bill of Human Rights on transgender 2018. Case Studies

·        In early 2018, a lesbian couple committed suicide and left a note reading: "We have left this world to live with each other. The world did not allow us to stay together."
·        In 2003, a hijra was gang-raped in Bangalore, and then gang-raped by the police.
·        . In 2011, a Haryana lesbian couple was murdered by their nephews for being in an "immoral" relationship.

According to Ministry of health and family welfare in 2017 it is rightly said that "Yes, adolescents can  fall in love. They have  attraction for a friend or any individual of the same or opposite sex. It is normal to have special feelings for someone. It is important for adolescents to understand that such relationships are based on mutual consent, trust, transparency and respect. It is alright to talk about such feelings to the person for whom you have them but always in a respectful manner.”

Statistics

If I talk  about the statistics less than 35% people are in favor or I must say in support with the third gender wherein their feelings or self Esteem is protected and respected. The people have forgot they too are humans and need to be protected and respected as humans.

Respect of the Kenner’s ( Third gender) was very necessary specially in Indian, therein 17th May is celebrated all over the world as International Bisexual day  ,to protect and respect the self-esteem and feelings of Transgender.

They constitute ½ of the world’s population and are equally intelligent like the men. The society had portrayed two different images of the women: one is family oriented and the other modern, working, liberal, independent and educated.
