Journalism:  The Thrill Of Writing Facts.

COVID19 has brought many of the challenges with the world, not only physical but also financial and mental. Doctors, Police officers, and also our journalists are on its toes to keep us safe. Journalists are on its toes to keep us updated with the hilarious situation outside.
Due to lockdown, many companies are at work from home, whereas journalists are risking life to keep us safe and updated.

This lockdown had an increased number of crimes in the nation, and the most targeted person is a journalist. In many countries especially in India, journalists are targeted with cyber- harassment (online harassment). International Federation of Journalists has recently shown serious concern over the threats and harassment online.

Online harassment is a type of harassment done with the use of computer networks, to threaten, abuse, or gives a mental trauma to the person. It includes many types of harassment like threatening, bullying, stalking, hacking, hateful speech, trolling, and many more.
The reports say that not only online harassment but also the physical harassment had also come up. Many of the tweets have followed the harassment faced by the journalist and they are asking for the legal action against such.

Some of the police authorities are harassing the journalists, the tweet followed that Mr. X was harassed by two sub-inspectors even after showing the ID cards when they were returning from work hours. Online harassment is faced mostly by women than men say reports.
The facts have proven that the topmost online harassment happens with the journalists, as they are a voice for the public. Online harassment is seen mostly at the top used social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.

Many of the countries including Turkish and Australia has reported online harassment which includes the threat of violence. Now India is also getting at the top in such cases.

Online harassment is way upsetting where the researchers and psychiatrists have seen many behavioral changes such as anxiety, distress, and depression among such victims. Harassment has also made the journalist especially the female journalist to come out of the home.

Many of the support systems are coming up, one of them is Vehkoo that provides advice to a journalist like ask for help, helping them in reporting the complaints. There is no specific law for them but yes these offenses can be reported under the Information Technology Act, 2000 where severe punishment and fines up to 1 Lakh are charged on the accused.

Online harassment is a new type of trend to create violence and research on the topic is in process. The government will come up with such equipment where the journalist will be able to combat such threats and violence.

It's more of a legal device for achieving a social and economic goal. As a result, it's a multi-faceted political, social, economic, and legal entity. As a result, the term "business" has been defined in a variety of ways. It is a method of cooperation and organization used in the functioning of a business. Criminal Defamation Law against right to freedom of speech.

“ Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body; it calls attention to the development of an unhealthy state of things'' -By Winston Churchill. Right to freedom of speech and expression is a fundamental right guaranteed by the Indian constitution part 3. Article 19 (1) states that “all citizens shall have the right to freedom of speech and expression” . Though fundamental rights are not absolute in nature they are exercised within reasonable restrictions. A human being has no standing in the real world if he can not exercise the right to freedom of speech and expression freely. He becomes utterly invisible in this world. The right to freedom of speech and expression fortifies our identities and it is of extreme importance to express one's view in a democratic country. Article 19 (1) does not only mean the right to freedom of speech but also freedom to criticize freely. Be it any person, politician or government. ...
